AI Crawler Census is a free AI visibility checker. Paste a URL and it checks whether AI search crawlers such as OAI-SearchBot, PerplexityBot, GPTBot and ClaudeBot are allowed by your robots.txt, and whether your homepage serves readable text instead of an empty JavaScript shell. It explains the difference between blocking AI training crawlers and blocking the crawlers that feed AI citations, a mistake its own crawl of 2,771 top sites found to be common. The site also includes an llms.txt generator and validator, a robots.txt checker and published crawler data under CC BY 4.0. No signup needed.
